Leslie Alkalay, PhD
Co-Founder, Hudson Mental Health
 

Leslie Alkalay practiced for 11 years as a Clinical Psychologist at Columbia University's Counseling and Psychological Services, providing direct clinical services to the graduate and undergraduate student body. Her patients presented a broad range of psychiatric diagnoses and concerns, which she addressed through individual and group therapy, diagnostic evaluation and crisis intervention. Leslie also served as a member of Columbia's Trauma Treatment team, working with survivors of sexual assault and recent trauma.
 
Prior to Columbia, Leslie completed a post-doctoral fellowship in clinical psychology at Princeton University Counseling and Psychological Services, preceded by an internship in clinical psychology at Lenox Hill Hospital. Leslie is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Cornell University, and received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Fordham University.
 
Leslie sought further training at the William Alanson White Institute, earning a certificate in Eating Disorders, Addictions and Compulsions (EDCAS program) in 2010. More recently, Leslie completed training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Anxiety Disorders and Depression (Cognitive Behavioral Consultants, 2018).

Leslie’s professional interests and areas of specialization include anxiety and mood disorders; adult adjustment/life transitions, family issues, and interpersonal relationships; developmental issues of early adulthood; balancing individuality and group membership; and trauma and post-traumatic stress.
